OUGD504 / Studio Brief 03 / Type in context publication / Brief

Initially it was that that as all the pictures taken are landscape it would be most appropriate to make the book landscape or square. For binding, perfect binding would suit the content as the images are quite rough and being at a festival makes the viewer think of camping, mud and carelessness. This could be shown through a more hand-made and experimental binding method, such as Japanese binding, saddle stitching or single sheet binding.
The pictures of letters are taken from around festivals (Boomtown in Winchester and Outlook in Pula, Croatia). They have been taken on disposable cameras as that is the only form of camera available and appropriate. Also this reflects the festival experience better as a lot of people take disposables to festivals.
When re-reading the brief, I have noticed that it says the pictures are meant to be in highest quality possible, which of course mine are not, I hope this wont be a problem when producing the publication. Some pictures like the 'V' didn't turn out very well at all, this was due to not being able to see the result on the disposable.
