OUGD504 / My Design Process / Initial ideas

I started off by choosing bright fun colours that I find attractive as I fit in to my target audience. I have used the font Karla here as it's rounded letters have a friendly inviting aesthetic. I want the overall look of the leaflet to be simple and type based as I want the reader to focus on the content.

Here I am experimenting with different titles for the front page, I have been using 3 colours (green, yellow and navy) however I want to cut down to only 2 colours including stock- this simplifies the whole design which is what I want to achieve.

I want to use a coloured stock rather than printing the colour on white as I think it looks a lot more professional and I want the stock to be textured, if I printed colour on textured stock the colour often rubs off on the creases which results in the leaflet looking messy and rough.

I've decided to use all lowercase lettering as I think softer and more informal, I think this makes the leaflet seem less formal.

I like the colour way on this, however I think it the capital letters and typeface looks too harsh and serious for what I'm trying to achieve.
