OUGD504 / Studio Brief 04 / SONY Music / Post crit

In the crit with Only it became apparent that the website needs to be more interactive and get people more excited and engaged with the new album release. A few ideas to do this are to play more with the concentric circles as a consistent theme throughout the site, this will also strengthen the concept of personal, organic hand rendered type and illustration, which reflects the folk style music Devendra Banhart produces for Mala.

When first opening the website, this will appear:

Then with Mala appearing in a written style, as if it were drawn on to the page.

Following this, Devendra Banhart will be written in the same style underneath it.

By scrolling down the text will move but the album artwork. Clicking on pre order will take the viewer to the iTunes store.

This is what happens if the viewer clicks play, a minute of a song from the album will start playing, and as it does the concentric circles will expand in and out to the beat, mimicking a round speaker.
Leading closer to album release, more snippets of the album will be added allowing the viewers and fans to hear more of the album, getting them excited for the album release and taking them back to the website.

After the snippets of songs are finished playing, or by clicking anywhere on the page, the words 'see more' will be written, clicking this will open up a short clip of a video from the album.

If the viewer were to click 'tour' instead of 'play', than they will be taken to the tour page, listing all the dates, locations and links to buy the tickets. These links to take the viewer to a ticket website.
