For this brief I have learnt a range of different folding techniques, this will be beneficial as it is an easily transferable skill, meaning I can use this for many briefs and projects to come. I am happy with fold I have used for my leaflet as it's simple but also keeps the leaflet secure and closed.
I researched successful leaflets on websites such as Pinterest and Designspiration to try and understand what these leaflets had which made them successful. I also looked in to different pieces of graphic design on blogs such as Its Nice That, Grafik and Creative Review, as this was the first week back so I needed to get back in to the swing of things and remind myself of successful graphic design in general.
I think my strengths in this brief has been arrangement of layout, I created grids and was able to keep everything neat and organised, while still using a slightly different arrangement (diagonal). I will take advantage of this skill by exploring more and different grids in the future to expand this strength.
The original finished leaflet didn’t turn out as expected. The aim was to print green onto a light pink stock, however as on the screen the computer recognises the background as white, therefore it was thought the green would be as bright as on screen, however the colour came out darker as it was sitting on pink stock. I resolved this by screen printing the leaflet and therefore achieving the bright leaflet I aimed to do, however due to stock limitations I had to change the colours, and due to the nature of screen printing I had to also make the leaflet bigger so that the small type would be exposed properly.
The weaknesses I had in this brief was time management and organisation, I didn't have enough pink stock therefore my final screen print had to be different colours to my original final design, if I had more time I would have been able to go out and buy the correct colour.
