While researching I came across Neue's re design for the Norwegian passports and ID. Even though this is not specifically bank note design I thought this had a lot of relevance, their concept is the Norwegian landscapes. It illustrates the Norwegian identity as well as making sure the passport will be viewed as a document of high value. The concept is deeply rooted in Norwegian culture and makes the documents widely accepted among the population. It will remain relevant for many years to come and it has clear user benefits. This makes the design timeless as its based on the nature of Norway rather than people.
