OUGD503 / Responsive / Studio Brief 01 / YCN - UCC Coffee / Research 2
Concept: connecting the product to where it comes from. This means connecting the coffee sold in shops to the fair trade farmers across the other side of the country. This can be done by using hessian sacks for the packaging of the coffee beans as these were what they are shipped in and contained in over seas. Also by loyalty cards, somehow connecting the farmer to the buyer possibly through an email or some sort. (These are just the start of some vague ideas).
DOC2DOCK video

'This video is an SOS. It was first sent by DOC2DOCK, a non-profit organisation that saves usable medical supplies from being discarded in the U.S. and sends them to hospitals in the developing world. Now, you can send the SOS further.'
The way in which they have used the actual means of transport & carriers of the supplies (the boxes) to communicate the message is really interesting and effective because it's using the every day objects which usually only have logos and slogans on to inform their important message.
