OUGD504 / Studio Brief 03 / Type in context publication / Screen Printing

After scanning in the final designed type, it was edited on Photoshop to create a negative appropriate to screen print. This type as well as 2 different painted typefaces were screen printed. The neon orange string is going to be used to bind the book with, then the ink was matched to this colour to keep the books aesthetic to a minimal colour pallet.






The neon ink sometimes didn't come out strong enough therefore had to be printed a couple times to get a strong enough colour, however this sometimes led to the second print being offset (below). This was solved on the rest of the prints by doing the second layer straight away onto the paper without lifting the screen up first- avoiding the chance of the paper moving away.
